I got the KIKO Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick in 130 Black simply because I wanted to accept a black lipstick in my collection

The other twenty-four hours, Marcella shared with me and the rest of the MBB-gang a Buzzfeed commodity on a rainbow highlighter, asking if we'd ever wear it.

Since I don't fifty-fifty employ traditional one-color highlighters that much, I said that I probably wouldn't wear it, just it would be something cool to have.

Which got me thinking…

Am I a makeup collector?

Well, to a sure extent I undoubtedly am.

I mean, I'grand not the type of collector that would get a product and never use it to preserve the pattern embossed on the pan. To me makeup is something to touch on, test, and play with. And then I guess that if I really got that rainbow highlighter, I would somehow use it, at least a few times.

But I definitely am a collector in the sense that sometimes (ahem… nearly of the time) I purchase makeup products simply because I desire to have them in my collection. Which doesn't mean that I won't use them. Information technology just means that I don't need them.

At this point I could go off on a major tangent and tell you that when it comes to makeup nothing is really needed. I mean, it'due south not like makeup is 1 of the basic homo survival needs, right? But when I say that I demand something in relation to makeup what I actually mean is that I've finished a production, like mascara or foundation, and need to replace it.

Yep, that'due south what I classify equally a need.

So, going back to what I was maxim earlier, I oft buy new makeup products even if I don't need to replace annihilation, which I guess makes me a collector.

I'one thousand pretty expert at keeping my foundation, mascara, concealer, and highlighter stash very streamlined, but I definitely have more than I need in all the other product categories, with lipsticks beingness my well-nigh purchased items.

I didn't actually need any of these products, but I got them considering I liked the packaging, or because my collection was lacking a specific shade, or because I wanted to have at least one matter from a certain brand

Please, alibi the rambly post, merely I don't become many chances to conversation about these types of things in the existent earth. Well, I mean, sometimes I exercise tell my partner (AKA Mr. Page) about my makeup musings, just 10 seconds into my monologue, he starts staring into pettiness, and I can clearly film a cymbal-banging monkey inside his head à la Homer Simpson.
